-He made his debut in 1969 as a voice narrator in the film Bhuvan Shome.
 After that, he got his first acting role as one of the seven protagonists in Saat Hindustani. 
 This film did not do well but gave him his first National Film Award for Best Newcomer.




-Then in the year 1971, he starred as a supporting actor in the film Anand, 
 with Rajesh Khanna which again gave him a Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award. 
 Then later that year he played his first negative role in Parwaana.

 Later that year he married Jaya Bhaduri and made many films together. 
 Then he starred in the film Namak Haraam for which he won his second Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.
-Then in 1975, he starred in a comedy film Chupke Chupke. 
 Then soon after he acted in films like Faraar and Mili. 
 Then he starred in the film Deewar for which he was nominated for Best Actor. 
 It was a hit film of the year 1975, which was ranked at no. 4 in Indiatimes Movies.
 Later that year he acted in the film Sholay which became the highest-grossing film of all time in India, 
 earning INR 2,36,45,00,000. It was declared as the "Film of the Millennium" by BBC India.

-On 26 July 1982, while filming Coolie in the University Campus in Bangalore,
 Bachchan suffered a near-fatal intestinal injury during the filming of a fight scene with co-actor Puneet Issar. 
 He was performing his own stunts in the film where he had to fall on a table and then on the ground. 
 While jumping on the table, his abdomen hit the corner of the table and he was injured.

-Then he decided to take a break from films and entered the field of politics to support his long-time friend, Rajiv Gandhi.
 He contested from Allahabad's against H. N. Bahuguna, former Chief Minister of 
 Uttar Pradesh and won by one of the highest victory margins in general election history. 
 Then after 3 years, he resigned. However, his resignation was followed by the involvement of Bachchan and his brother in the "Bofors scandal" by a newspaper, which he vowed to take to court. Bachchan was eventually found not guilty of involvement in the ordeal.


-Again in 1988, he returned to Bollywood and made a film Shahenshah, which was a huge success.
 Then on in 1991, he made another film Hum which went on to become a hit and he won his third Filmfare Best Actor Award. 
 After the release of Khuda Gawah in 1992, he made went into a semi-retirement for around 5 years.

 and set up a company named Amitabh Bachchan Corporation, Ltd. (A.B.C.L.) in 1996.
 ABCL's strategy was to introduce products and services covering the entire section of India's entertainment industry.

Bollywood's most loved and respected actor,
Amitabh Bachchan has made a shocking revelation. 
At the launch of a media campaign on Hepatitis, 
Big B revealed that he has lost 75% of his liver to the deadly Hepatitis virus. 
He further added that he is surviving on only 25% of his liver today, reports Indianexpress.com. 
Talking about how he contracted the disease, the 'Paa' star revealed that he had been injected with almost 60 bottles of blood from close to 200 donors and one of them was carrying Hepatitis B virus. However,
he also added that he continued working perfectly fine until 2000. 
It was during a normal routine check-up that he got to know that he was surviving on only 25% of his liver. 
In the same report, Big B also added that one can survive with even 12% of the liver but no one would want to get to that stage.

2015, megastar Amitabh Bachchan completes 46 years in the Hindi movie industry.
